Broken Bow Girls Win Holiday Tournament – Bow Boys Win Consolation Game

It was a good day for Broken Bow basketball as both girls and boys picked up wins on the final day of the Bow Holiday Tournament.

Broken Bow met Adams Central Tuesday in a top ten battle for the girls tournament title.  The two teams met in last season’s district final with Adams Central winning and advancing to the state tournament.  Broken Bow trailed 37-33 going into the final quarter but would outscore Adams Central 15-4 in the fourth and made some big free throws down the stretch to secure a 48-41 win.  Coach Kelly Cooksley told KCNI/KBBN Sports that the win helps provide momentum moving forward.

Broken Bow will enter 2021 undefeated at 8-0.  Coach Cooksley said that the team will enjoy the win against a quality team and will continue to take it one game at a time as they move into the new year.

The Broken Bow boys also picked up a big win Tuesday as they held off Boone Central in the consolation game.  Bow outscored Boone Central 12-5 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 50-37 win.  With the win, the Indians will carry a winning record into 2021 as they improved to 4-3 overall.

Both teams will travel to Hershey on January 2nd for a doubleheader with the Hershey Panthers.  The games will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM and  The girls game will tip first at 4:30 with the boys game to follow.
