Broken Bow Girls “Three-Peat” as SWC Tournament Champions

For the third year in a row, the Broken Bow girls basketball team claimed the Southwest Conference tournament title. Broken Bow won the “Battle of Indians” on Saturday as they defeated Ogallala 44-35 at North Platte Community College. It was just Ogallala’s 2nd loss of the season as Broken Bow improved to 17-2 overall. The game was a tough defensive battle throughout. Bow led by three going into the 4th quarter but outscored Ogallala 13-7 in the final eight minutes to preserve the win. Kya Scott led Broken Bow in scoring with 12. Majesta Valasek finished with 8 and Kali Staples had 7 to help lead the Broken Bow attack.

Ogallala won the SWC boys tournament title as they ran past McCook 82-56. Ainsworth defeated Gothenburg in the girls consolation game 58-50 and Minden defeated Ainsworth in the boys consolation game 64-49.
