Broken Bow Girls and Boys Ready for Today’s SWC Semis

The Broken Bow girls and boys basketball teams continue their run in the Southwest Conference Tournament today as each will play in the semifinal round at Lexington High School. The Broken Bow girls (13-4) are the #2 seed in the tournament and will play the #3 seed Minden (7-9). Bow advanced to the semis with a round one win over Cozad 57-25 while Minden advanced by defeating Valentine 52-36. The two met earlier this season with Broken Bow pulling away in the fourth quarter to win 53-40. Today’s game is scheduled to tip off at 5pm. The other girls semifinal today features the top seed Ogallala taking on McCook.

The Broken Bow boys team will try to do something no other team has done yet this season and that is defeat Ogallala. Ogallala, the top seed in the tournament, is 16-0 and currently ranked #3 by the Omaha World Herald in their latest Class C1 rankings. Bow has put together a very strong resume as well coming in at 12-4 and are the two time defending tournament champs. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 with the winner advancing to the championship game against the winner of today’s other semifinal between Cozad and Ainsworth.
