Broken Bow Finishes Runner-Up at SWC Volleyball Tournament

The Broken Bow volleyball team took home the runner-up trophy yesterday at the Southwest Conference volleyball tournament. Bow defeated Cozad in the opening round 25-10, 25-6. Kya Scott and Emma Schall each had 6 kills in the match. Bow then defeated Minden in the semifinals 25-22, 25-17. Kya Scott had 7 kills while Kali Staples and Emma Schall each had 5 to lead the Broken Bow attack. Kailyn Scott finished with 18 assists. Broken Bow would face the #2 seed Ogallala in the championship. The two met earlier in the season with Broken Bow winning a thrilling 3 set match 2-1. This match would go the distance as well. After dropping the opening set 25-12, Bow rebounded to tie the match winning in the 2nd set 26-24. Ogallala would prevail in the third though winning 25-17. Kya Scott had 13 kills and Kailyn Scott 26 assists in the championship match. Broken Bow is now 26-4 on the season and will host the C1-10 sub district tournament beginning Monday. Broken Bow will face the winner of Ainsworth/Valentine on Monday. Monday’s other match will feature O’Neill vs Ord with the winners advancing to the sub final on Tuesday.
