Broken Bow Cross Country Teams Give Strong Showing at Ogallala Invite

The Broken Bow girls and boys cross country teams were among those that competed at the Ogallala Invitational Thursday. The Broken Bow boys placed third in the team standings behind team champion Sidney and runner-up McCook. The individual champion was William Anderson of Gothenburg with a winning time of 17:07.9. Broken Bow placed four runners in the top 30. Lane Russell placed 5th (17:45.9), Daine Wardyn was 23rd (18:54.9), Martin Bailey was 27th (19:00.79), and Garrett Phillips was 30th (19:05.2).

In the girls race, McCook was the team champion followed by Chadron in 2nd and North Platte St. Pat’s was third. The individual champion was Kate Stieneke of St. Pat’s in a winning time of 20:40.09. McKenna Palmer was the top Broken Bow finisher placing in the top 50 at 46th (25:22.4)
