Broken Bow Cross Country Teams Compete at Cozad Invite

The Broken Bow cross country teams began their season at the Cozad Invitational on Saturday. Hastings was the boys team champion followed by Holdrege in 2nd and McCook place third. Broken Bow placed 7th as a team in the boys division. The boys individual champion was Tyler Peterson of Holdrege with a winning time of 17:02.6. Garrett Phillips was the top Broken Bow finisher. Phillips placed 15th overall in a time of 17:59.7 with teammate Lane Russell right behind in 16th with a time of 18:00.8. Hastings and Holdrege tied for the girls team title with North Platte St. Pat’s finishing third. The girls individual champion was Sydney Reed of Holdrege in a winning time of 20:12. The top Broken Bow finisher was McKenna Palmer who placed 28th in a time of 23:08.5. Broken Bow will host the Indian Invite on Saturday at the Broken Bow Country Club.
