Broken Bow hosted its annual cross country invitational Saturday at the Broken Bow Golf Course.
In the girls race, Izzy Renner of McCook was the individual champion with a winning time of 20:20.01. Broken Bow was led by Ashlyn Schauda who finished 5th overall in a time of 21:31.48. Bow placed seven runners total in the top 25. Genesis Guervera was 16th followed by Jaycee Staples in 17th. Gaby Staples of Broken Bow placed 20th followed by Anette Guevara in 21st and Maydee Guervera was 22nd. Rylie Wistisen placed 25th. South Loup placed two runners in the top 15 led by Ella Cool in 12th place followed by Ivy Tullis in 13th.
In the boys race, Tyler Hetz of Gothenburg was the individual champion with a winning time of 16:39.13. The top Broken Bow finisher was Brock Oeltjen who placed 15th in a time of 18:23.93. Broken Bow placed four total in the top 25. Jackson Hansen was 17th, Tallen Harrold placed 22nd and Asher Jensen was 23rd. In other area highlights, Josiah Coleman of South Loup finished in the top 25 placing 24th and Keith Morash of Sandhills Valley finished in the top 30 placing 26th.
