Broken Bow Boys Win Gothenburg Cross Country Invite

The Broken Bow boys cross country team won the team title at the Gothenburg Invite on Thursday.  Broken Bow was first followed by Gothenburg in second and Minden was third.  Broken  Bow’s Daine Wardyn placed 2nd (17:07) followed closely by teammate Noah Osmond who placed 3rd (17:07+).  The individual champion was William Anderson of Gothenburg in a winning time of 16:49. Broken Bow placed 5 runners in the top 20.  Trey Hurlburt was 10th (17:47), Brock Oeltjen was 17th (18:06), and Casey Faulkenberry placed 19th (18:08).  Sandhills Valley (Stapleton/McPherson County) had two runners place in the top 25.  Colin Rooney was 7th (17:28) and Rylin Johns placed 24th (18:22).

The girls team championship went to North Platte.  McCook was second, Minden was third, and Broken Bow was fourth.  Zarah Blaesi of North Platte was the individual champion in a winning time of 19:31.  Broken Bow was led by freshman Makinley Tobey who placed 6th in a time of 20:50.  Anna Lindstrom of Broken Bow placed in the top 25 finishing 21st (22:25).
