Broken Bow Boys Finish Runner up at SWC Track – Bow Girls Finish Third

The Southwest Conference Track and Field championships took place Tuesday in Gothenburg. The boys team race was tight throughout the day between Broken Bow and McCook. McCook would win the boys team title with 125 points and Broken Bow would finish runner up with 117 points. The Broken Bow girls placed third in the team standings with 63 points which was 6 points behind runner up Ogallala. McCook was the girls team champion with 139 points.

Among the Broken Bow highlights, Qwentin  Coble was the conference champion in the boys 100 in a winning time of 11.05 seconds.  Coble would then claim gold in the 200 in a time of 22.76 seconds.  Qwentin also had a strong showing in the long jump finishing 3rd with an effort of 20′.  Broken Bow was again strong in the boys distance races as  Noah Osmond was runner-up in the 3200 (10:13.52) and Daine Wardyn was third (10:30.81).  Wardyn was also runner up in the 1600 in a time of 4:48.81. Zane Eggleston was runner-up in the 110 meter hurdles (16.13) and was third in the 300 meter hurdles (42.36).  In the field events, Sawyer Bumgarner was runner up in the shot put with an effort of 49′ and Tyler Thomas was top three in the discus finishing third (132’7″).

On the girls side, Anna Lindstrom was runner up in the girls 100 (13.21).  Brianna Quinn was top three in the 800 finishing third (2:31.4).  Kya Scott was runner up in the girls high jump clearing 5′.

In the relays, Broken Bow was runner up in the girls 4×800, 5th in the girls 4×100 and third in the 4×400.  Broken Bow was third in the boys 4×800, 4th in the boys 4×100, and 5th in the 4×400.
