Broken Bow Boys Edge Valentine in SWC Tournament Consolation Game

Last Friday, the Broken Bow boys basketball team picked up its first win of the year by defeating Valentine 81-46 Thursday night the two would meet again in the 7th place consolation game of the SWC tournament and again Broken Bow would pick up the win but this time it would be much closer. Trailing by 3 late in the game, Broken Bow’s Morgan McMeen hit a 3 to tie the game up at 42-42. With 4.3 seconds left in the game, Frazier Kaelin of Broken Bow was fouled and went to the free throw line. He would miss the first but made the 2nd to give Bow the lead by one. Valentine got a shot off at the end for a chance to win but the attempt failed and the Indians collected their 2nd win of the season. Both coming against the Badgers. Frazier Kaelin had a big game finishing with a game high 15 points to lead the way for the Indians.

In the 5th place boys consolation game, Cozad edged Gothenburg 60-54.
