Broken Bow Boys and Girls Basketball Begins Season with Wins

The Broken Bow boys and girls basketball teams each claimed victory in their season opener against Arcadia/Loup City Thursday night. The Broken Bow girls team used an 11-0 run to start the 3rd quarter to help pull away from the Lady Rebels and secure a 59-36 win. Bow was led by Majesta Valasek who finished with 16 points. Kya Scott also finished in double figures for the Lady Indians with 12. Arcadia/Loup City was led by Capri Dethlefs and Nadia VanSlyke who each finished with a team high 7 points.

In the boys game, Arcadia/Loup City led 21-18 at the half but the Indians dominated the 2nd half outscoring the Rebels 39-13 to post a 57-34 victory. Bow was led by Josh Harvey who scored 20 of his game high 25 points in the 2nd half. Grayson Garey finished with 12 and Griffin Wright also finished in double figures with 10. Arcadia/Loup City was led by Caden Kusek who finished with a team high 11.
