Broken Bow Begins Track Season at Hastings

The Broken Bow track and field team competed in its first invite of the season Friday as they traveled to the Tiger Track Invitational at Hastings.  Northwest of Grand Island won both the girls and boys team titles.  The Broken Bow boys finished third overall and the Broken Bow girls finished 6th in the girls team standings.  Some of the highlights for Broken Bow included Qwentin Coble winning the boys triple jump with a winning jump of 40′ 7.5″.  Coble also won the boys long jump going 21′ 1.5″.  Brody Ridder won the boys pole vault clearing 12′ and Kya Scott took first in the girls high jump by clearing 5′ for the win.  Makinley Tobey placed second in the girls 3200 meter run (13:06.3) and Joscelyn Coleman was runner-up in the girls pole vault by clearing 8′.  For more results, listen to the Broken Bow track report which airs every Tuesday during the Noon sports report on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM.
