Broken Bow, Anselmo-Merna, South Loup, and Mullen All Advance to District Finals

The Broken Bow girls basketball team advanced to the district finals with a 45-39 win over O’Neill Thursday night in the finals of the C1-9 sub district tournament. Kya Scott had a team high 15 points and Kali Staples added 10 points and had 7 rebounds to help lead the way as head coach Kelly Cooksley collected his 150th career win. The Lady Indians improve to 23-2 on the season and will play a week from Friday for the right to qualify for the state tournament.

Anselmo-Merna claimed the title at the D2-7 sub district tournament played in Broken Bow. The Lady Coyotes held off SEM 41-34 to advance to next week’s district final. South Loup also qualified for the district finals as they defeated Elm Creek 51-36 at the C2-11 sub district and Mullen qualified for the district finals as they defeated Arthur County 55-34 to win the D2-9 sub district title.
