Broken Bow and Other Area Teams Kickoff Football Season Tonight

The high school football season gets into full swing tonight around the state of Nebraska.   It’s a new era for Broken Bow football.  Broken Bow grad Carlie Wells takes over this season for Mike Garner who retired after 23 years as head coach.  Broken Bow begins their season on the road tonight as they travel out west to face Ogallala.  Coach Wells told KCNI/KBBN sports that he has been pleased with the way players have been able to grasp the concepts of his system as they implement it.  Broken Bow has battled through some adversity during fall camp but coach Wells says that he has been pleased with the team’s preparation under the circumstances.

Ogallala finished the regular season at 7-2 last season and qualified for the Class C1 state playoffs.  Coach Wells talked about Broken Bow’s preparation for tonight’s opponent.

Tonight’s game between Broken Bow and Ogallala will be broadcast on both KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM as well as KBBN 95.3 FM.  Coverage begins with the Friday Night Lights pregame show at 6 pm.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm central time.
