Broken Bow and Mullen Make Final OWH Volleyball Rankings

Broken Bow and Mullen each appear in the final top ten volleyball rankings released by the Omaha World Herald. The OWH has Broken Bow ranked #6 in the final Class C1 top ten poll. The Lady Indians won the C1-8 district title this season with a straight set victory over Oakland Craig to qualify for the state volleyball tournament for the second consecutive year. Broken Bow fell to eventual state runner-up St. Paul in the opening round the state tournament and finished 29-5 overall for the season. Bow’s season was also highlighted by victories over Lincoln Lutheran and Kearney Catholic who were ranked #’s 4 and 5 respectively by the publication. State champion Wahoo was ranked #1 in the class followed by St. Paul #2 and Columbus Lakeview was ranked #3.

The Herald ranked Mullen #8 in the final Class D2 poll. Mullen won the D2-7 district championship with a 3 sets to 1 win over Garden County to qualify for the state tournament. The Lady Broncos fell to Maywood Hayes Center in the opening round of the tournament to finish the season with a 28-6 overall record. The Lady Broncos also claimed the 2020 Mid Nebraska Activities Conference volleyball tournament championship this year. State champion Diller-Odell was ranked #1 followed by Chambers/Wheeler Central #2, Falls City Sacred Heart was ranked #3, Maywood Hayes Center #4, and Humphrey St. Francis rounded out the top 5.
