Broken Bow Among the Field at the Class C Girls State Golf Championships

The Broken Bow girls golf team will be among those competing at the NSAA Class C girls state golf championships which take place Monday and Tuesday at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte. Broken Bow qualified as a team by finishing runner-up at the C4 district meet last Tuesday at Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island. Last year’s team was on the outside looking in at the state tournament field and that created motivation for the returning players from that team to work hard and accomplish that achievement this year. Broken Bow girls golf coach Kelly Cooksley told KCNI/KBBN Sports that this season has kind of been about redemption.

Due to cold temperatures forecasted for early Monday morning, groups will not begin teeing off until 10 am. Avery Campbell will be in the first group off the tee on hole #1 at 10am. Graycee Oeltjen will start her round Monday at 10:30 on hole #10. Joscelyn Coleman will tee off on hole #10 at 10:50 and Emery Custer will be in the 11:20 group starting on hole #10. Madison Jackson will be the final Broken Bow player to tee off Monday as she will start her opening round on hole #1 at 11:50.

You can hear updates from the state tournament both Monday and Tuesday on KBBN 95.3 FM.
