Carter Johnson Pitches a Perfect Game for Broken Bow Seniors and Broken Bow Juniors Improve to 4-0

It was a big night for the Broken Bow American Legion baseball teams Wednesday  as they swept a juniors and seniors doubleheader at Gothenburg.  The juniors remained undefeated with a 12-3 win in six innings over the Gothenburg juniors.  Nick Shada went the distance on the mound to pick up the win giving up just 3 runs on 4 hits and striking out 3.  Broken Bow jumped out early scoring 4 runs in their first at bat.  Bow would score two runs in the 2nd, two more in the third, one in the fourth and three runs in the sixth.  Eli Coble was 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and an RBI and Max Denson was 2 for 5 with a run scored and 3 RBI to lead the Broken Bow offense.  The Bow juniors are now 4-0 on the season.

The Broken Bow seniors snapped a five game losing streak as Carter Johnson pitched a perfect game to lead Broken Bow past Gothenburg 13-0 in five innings.  Johnson was in control all night striking out eight of the fifteen batters he would face as no one from Gothenburg would reach base during the five inning affair.  Broken Bow’s offense broke the game open in the third inning when they sent 11 men to the plate and scored 7 runs.  Austin Harvey was one of the offensive leaders finishing 3 for 4 with a run scored and 4 RBI.  The Bow seniors improve to 2-5 on the season.

Broken Bow will next play at St. Paul Friday night for a juniors and seniors doubleheader.
