Broken Bow 4th and Mullen Finishes 3rd at Boys State Basketball Tournament

Broken Bow claimed the 4th place trophy Saturday at the NSAA boys state basketball championships in Lincoln. Broken Bow fell to Lincoln Christian in the 3rd place consolation game 68-49. Bow trailed by 7 at halftime but was outscored 24-11 in the 3rd quarter as Lincoln Christian was able to pull away for the victory. The Indians had 3 players finish in double figures. Padyn Borders and Tanner Linn each had 11 and Josh Harvey finished with 10. Padyn Borders was named to the Class C1 all tournament team. Borders averaged 15.3 points per game through the tournament. Broken Bow concludes the season at 23-5. Broken Bow schools was also honored as the recipient of the NSAA’s Class C1 Sportsmanship Award during the tournament.

The Mullen Broncos claimed the 3rd place trophy Saturday at the NSAA boys state basketball championships in Lincoln. Mullen defeated Giltner in the 3rd place consolation game 57-51. It was a powerful moment when Mullen head coach Rusty Moore (recently diagnosed with brain cancer) stepped onto the court to hand out the medals to his players. Mullen had 3 players score in double figures. Luke Christen led the way with 15. Brendan Walker finished with 13 and Tell Spies had 12. Luke Christen was named to the Class D2 all tournament team. Christen averaged 13.7 points per game during the tournament. Mullen concludes the season at 21-6.

Nebraska City Lourdes CC defeated Kenesaw 32-25
Johnson Brock defeated Heartland 63-54

Class D2 – Championship
Falls City Sacred Heart defeated Riverside 59-42
