Boys State Golf Recap – Broken Bow Finishes 9th in Class C

The NSAA Boys State Golf Championships concluded Wednesday. The Class C tournament was played at the Kearney Country Club. Grand Island Central Catholic was the team champion with a two day team total 637. Elmwood Murdoch was runner-up with a 647 which was one shot better than Hartington Cedar Catholic who finished third. Broken Bow shot a team total 346 on the final day for a two day total 685 which was good for 9th overall. The individual champion was Chase Largen of Creighton who shot a 3 over par 145 for the tournament. Griffin Wright and Jared Kahnk both shot a final round 10 over par 81 Wednesday. Wright finished with a team low 164 for the tournament which was tied for 22nd. Kahnk finished with a 168 for the tournament. Josh Harvey shot a final round 91 and a two day total 175. Spencer Gaffney shot a final round 93 for a two day total of 178 and Cole Ulmer shot a final round 97 and a two day total 197.

In Class D at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte, Ryan Weiss of Franklin and Mason Hale of West Holt finished tied for low score at 7 over par after their final round. Weiss won the gold medal on the second hole of a playoff. West Holt won the team title. Koby Walker of Mullen struggled on day one finishing with an 89 but came back to shoot 4 over par 76 in the final round and finished with a 165 for the tournament and finished tied for 12th overall. Jace Leibhart of Anselmo-Merna shot a 91 in the final round for a two day total of 182.

Caleb Badura shot 2 under par to win the Class B individual title at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus. York won the team title. Adam Cole of Cozad finished with a two day total 171 and Dillon Geiser finished with a 173. Luke Kluver of Norfolk won the Class A title finishing 5 under par for the tournament and Norfolk also claimed the team championship.
