The SEM Mustangs concluded their boys state basketball tournament appearance with a win Saturday knocking off Shelton in the D2 3rd place consolation game 62-60. SEM battled from behind the majority of the 2nd half but never allowed Shelton to pull away to set up a thrilling ending. With the game tied at 60, Kellen Eggleston hit a pull up jumper with six seconds left to give SEM the lead. Shelton was not able to answer in the finals seconds as the Mustangs collected their 22nd win of the season. As they had all through the tournament, SEM was able to get to the free throw line where they finished 17 of 21 for the game. Shelton was just 12 of 26 from the line. Jace Rosentreader led the way for SEM finishing with a game high 27 points. Kellen Eggleston also finished in double figures with 14. SEM concludes the season at 22-6 overall.
