The Panhandle and Harrison rodeos took place last week as high school rodeo contestants were finally able to enjoy some competition in “practice rodeos” in Harrison, NE. A number of area cowboys and cowgirls from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area performed well at the rodeos which wrapped up with the girls and boys cuttings.
For the Panhandle results, Frazier Kaelin of Ansley took the number one spot with a score of 73 in the boys cutting while Cody Miller of Broken Bow placed in the top five. Devin Konicek of Burwell and Cooper Bass of Brewster also performed well at the rodeo and put together top eleven finishes.
For the Harrison results, Cody Miller landed in the top five while Frazier Kaelin and Cooper Bass made the top ten.
All Around numbers were also calculated following the cuttings where area cowgirl Madison Mills of Eddyville is leading the all-around standings with 3,011.40 points. Behind her in second is Fleming, CO native Wacey Day with 2,655.20 points.
Contestants will now start to focus on the Nebraska state finals scheduled for June 16-20 in Burwell. The first performance of the state finals rodeo is scheduled for Thursday, June 18 at 10 AM.
