The Broken Bow Spirit 16U team dropped its opening game at state at the Hastings softball complex by falling to the Blue Springs Lightning 6-4. Blue Springs scored 4 runs in the second inning to take the early lead. Bow would fight back with a run in the third and 2 more in the 4th. However, Blue Springs would add an insurance run in the 4th and 5th and hang on for the win. The Spirit outhit the Lightning 10-8 but it wasn’t enough. Nikki Peters, Joscelyn Coleman, and Lila Bloomer all had multiple hits for the Spirit.
