Bow Seniors Split Thrilling Doubleheader with Sutton

The Broken Bow Seniors American Legion baseball team traveled to Sutton for a doubleheader on Saturday. The two teams split the doubleheader with the two games decided by a total of three runs.

In game one, Bow fell behind 5-0 but fought back with a run in the fifth and 3 more in the sixth to pull to within one but Sutton would hold on for a 5-4 win. Clay Brandon and Sam Peterson each had multi-hit games to lead the Bow offense. Brandon was 2 for 4 and Peterson finished 3 for 4.

Bow would bounce back in the second game. It was a wild back and forth game that had to go into extra innings to determine a winner. The game was scoreless after the first two innings but turned into a high scoring affair. Sutton led 11-5 after five innings but saw Bow score 5 runs in the 6th and one more in the 7th to send the game into the 8th inning where Broken Bow would outscore Sutton 3-1 and collect their 7th win of the season winning 14-12. The Bow bats were hot pounding out a total of 22 hits in the game. Clay Brandon and Sam Peterson would lead the way again going a combined 9 for 10 from the plate. Brandon was a perfect 5 for 5 with 4 runs scored while Peterson was 4 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
