Bow Seniors Fall to Ogallala in Mid Nebraska League Tournament

The Broken Bow American Legion Seniors baseball team saw its season come to an end Wednesday night as they fell to top seed Ogallala in the west division championship game of the Mid Nebraska League tournament.  Ogallala jumped out quickly to a 4-0 lead in the first inning thanks in part to a two run homer in the first by Ogallala catcher John Haimowitz.  Ogallala added a run in the third and then put the game away in the fourth inning as they sent 11 men to the plate and scored 7 runs to make the final score 12-0.  The Bow seniors couldn’t string anything together offensively against Ogallala pitcher Lane Blackwell.  Cyrus Wells, Blake Denson, Austin Harvey, and Sawyer Bumgarner each singled in the game while Caden Holm had the team’s only extra base hit, a double which came in the 2nd inning.  Broken Bow concludes the season at 10-9 overall.  Ogallala advances to the Mid Nebraska League championship game which they will host on Friday.
