Bow Juniors and Seniors Split Doubleheader with Imperial

The Broken Bow Juniors and Seniors legion baseball teams split a doubleheader with Imperial on Saturday at Paul Brown Field.

The Bow juniors suffered their first defeat of the season by falling to Imperial 3-2 in ten innings.  The pitching was strong on both sides with Chase County pitching striking out five while Austin Harvey and Hagan Campbell combined to strike out ten for Broken Bow.  Imperial broke a 2 all tie by scoring in the top of the tenth to take a 3-2 lead.  Bow had the winning runs on base in the bottom of the tenth but were unable to produce as they saw their overall record drop to 5-1.

The Bow seniors bounced back nicely after a loss to Holdrege on Friday night.  The Broken Bow bats were hot as they pounded out 13 hits and scored in every inning en route to a 13-5 win.  The top of the order set the tone offensively with Clay Brandon going 4 for 4 with 4 runs scored in the lead off spot ; Blake Denson, batting in the #2 spot, was 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored ; and Coy Johnson, batting third, was 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored.  The Bow Seniors are now 4-2 on the season.
