Bow Juniors and Seniors Split Doubleheader with Cozad

The Broken Bow Juniors and Seniors American Legion baseball teams traveled to Cozad Sunday.

The Bow Seniors suffered their third loss in a row dropping a close one to Cozad 7-5.  The game was tied 4-4 going to the fifth but Cozad would score 3 in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead.  Bow got one run back in the 6th but that was it as Cozad held on for the win.  Blake Denson drove in 3 of Bow’s five runs going 2 for 4 with a run scored.  The Bow seniors are now 6-5 on the season.

The Bow Juniors saw their bats come alive in their win against Cozad Sunday.  Bow scored 15 runs on 9 hits as they jumped out early and never looked back.  Bow scored in every inning with the breakdown going 3 in the first, 3 in the second, 4 in the third, 4 in the 4th and one more in the fifth.  Wyatt Woodward and Kaden McKean each drove in two runs and Max Denson, hitting in the lead off spot, went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored.  Nick Shada pitched a complete game for the win giving up just one run on one hit and struck out two.  The Bow juniors improve to 8-1 overall.

Next up for the Bow juniors and seniors is a doubleheader with Lexington Monday night at Paul Brown Field.  The juniors game is scheduled for 5:30 with the seniors game to follow at 8 pm.  The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM with a live video stream presented on sandhillsexpress.com facebook.
