McCook took a doubleheader from the Broken Bow American Legion Juniors and Seniors last night at Broken Bow’s Paul Brown Field. McCook won the Juniors game 19-8 and won the Seniors game 8-4. The 19-8 final in the Juniors game was not indicative of how the game played out. Broken Bow trailed 7-2 going to the bottom of the 4th but scored 6 runs in their half of the inning to take an 8-7 lead into the 5th but some fielding miscues in the 5th helped allow McCook to plate 12 runs in the inning and claim the victory. The Bow Seniors struggled to find the big hit last night in an 8-4 loss. Bow fell behind 5-0 going to the bottom of the third. In the third, Bow would load the bases with nobody out but could only come away with 2 runs. McCook quickly answered back with 2 runs in the 4th and would hold on for the victory and improve to 5-1 on the season. Next up for Bow is a Juniors and Seniors doubleheader against Imperial Sunday afternoon at Paul Brown Field. The Juniors game is scheduled for 1pm with the Seniors game to follow.
