Bow Girls Take Runner-up and Bow Boys Place 4th at Minden Track Invite

Minden was host to the Marsh Beck track and field invitational on Thursday. The Broken Bow girls had their best team showing of the season placing 2nd behind Adams Central in the team standings. The Broken Bow boys placed fourth in the team standings just 3.5 points behind St. Paul for third. Adams Central won the boys team title followed by GICC in second.

Among the highlights for the Broken Bow girls runner-up finish included Kailyn Scott picking up two individual golds by winning the 100 (13.3) and the 200 (27.8). Broken Bow’s 4×400 relay team of Anna Lindstrom, Kya Scott, Ryen Haines, and Kailyn Scott took gold in a winning time of 4:27.1. Other highlights included Kali Staples placing second in the mile (5:54.2) and Makinley Tobey was runner-up in the two mile (12:18.2). Joscelyn Coleman placed 2nd in the pole vault clearing 8′ 1″ and the 4×100 relay team (Emma Schall, Anna Lindstrom, Macey Haines, Kailyn Scott) placed 2nd in a time of 54.7.

Qwentin Coble once again helped lead the way for the Bow boys winning the long jump with an effort of 19′ 10″ and placed second in the triple jump going 40′ 7.5″. Other highlights for the Bow boys included placing four runners in the top 6 of the 3200 Daine Wardyn placed 2nd, Noah Osmond was third, Brock Oeltjen 4th, and Trey Hurlburt placed 6th. Sawyer Bumgarner was runner-up in the boys shot put with an effort of 42′ 5.75″ and Brody Ridder was runner-up in the pole vault clearing 12′ 1″. Broken Bow’s 4×100 relay team of Cyrus Wells, Qwentin Coble, Eli Coble, and Zane Eggleston was 2nd in a time of 46.5 seconds.
