Bass Qualifies for National Finals in Reined Cow Horse Competition

The Nebraska State High School Rodeo Finals are taking place this week in Burwell.  The Reined Cow Horse Finals took place on Tuesday.  Among the competitors were Cooper Bass of Brewster and Frazier Kaelin of Ansley.  Bass placed 2nd in the long go Tuesday and followed that up with a 7th place finish in the short go.  Kaelin placed fourth in both the long and short go.  The top score in the long go belonged to Tucker Gillespie of McCook and the top performance in the short go was turned in by Tatum Olson of Bloomfield.

Cooper Bass of Brewster finished fourth in the year end point standings in the reined cow horse competition and as a result qualifies for the National High School Finals Rodeo next month in Oklahoma.  Finishing first in the point standings was Tatum Olson of Bloomfield.  Also qualifying for nationals were Tucker Gillispie of McCook (2nd), and Cadell Brunsch of Chadron (3rd).  Frazier Kaelin of Ansley ended the season finishing 6th in the point standings.
