Several area teams competed at the Sutherland wrestling invitational this past Saturday. Amherst edged Mullen for the team title winning by two points, 159-157. Among the area highlights, Brady Gracey of Mullen defeated Tayten Eggleston of South Loup in the championship match at 132 lbs. by a 1-0 decision. Mullen also claimed the title in 3 other weight divisions including Jade Lovitt at 138 lbs., Zachary Sweet at 152, and Clayton Hassett at 220 lbs. Cyrus Wells of Anselmo-Merna was runner-up at 126 lbs., Seth Simants of Stapleton was runner-up at 160 lbs., and Kendal Neal of Mullen placed 2nd at 182 lbs.
