Area Teams Have Strong Presence in OWH Top Ten Rankings

Several teams from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area appear in this week’s Omaha World Herald top ten high school basketball rankings.

The Broken Bow Lady Indians move up to #2 this week in the Class C1 girls top ten.  Bow is 12-0 this season.  Broken Bow will have a good challenge in front of them this week as they travel to play Kearney Catholic on Thursday and then host Wood River (ranked #7 in Class C2) on Friday.  Friday’s game against Wood River will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com  The Anselmo-Merna girls make their first appearance this season in the top ten as the Lady Coyotes are ranked #7 this week in Class D1.  AM is 8-3 entering the week and will next face Sandhills/Thedford on Thursday which will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM.  SEM and Mullen make the Class D2 girls top ten.  SEM is #8 followed by Mullen at #9.  SEM will face Class D1 #1 Pleasanton on Saturday while Mullen faces Class C2 #8 North Platte St. Pat’s tonight (1/12).

On the boy’s side, Burwell and Ansley/Litchfield are both ranked in Class D1.  The Longhorns are undefeated entering the week at 12-0 and are on the road tonight to take on Riverside.  Ansley/Litchfield is 10-2 and will next play at Shelton on Friday.  Mullen jumps from #9 to #5 this week in Class D2.  The Broncos are 9-2 entering the week and will face North Platte St. Pat’s tonight (1/12).  The Irish are 9-3 and ranked #2 in Class D1.
