Area Teams Compete at C8 District Track Championships in Ord

South Loup, Arcadia/Loup City, and Burwell were among the area teams that competed at the C8 district track and field championships in Ord on Thursday. Ord won both the girls and boys district team titles. South Loup finished as runner-up in the girls team standings and Arcadia/Loup City placed 5th. Burwell was the runner-up in the boys team standings and South Loup placed third. The top two places in each individual running and field event and the winning team in each relay event automatically qualified for the state track championships next week in Omaha.

The following athletes qualified for South Loup.
Boys 4×800 meter relay (Cache Gracey, Logan Recoy, Silas Cool, Rio Remund)
Girls 4×100 meter relay (Bryn Schwarz, Halie Recoy, Mya Weverka, Jadeyn Bubak)
Drew Vickers – boys 110 meter high hurdles
Jadeyn Bubak – girls 100 meter dash
Halie Recoy – girls 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash
Landyn Cole – girls 3200 meter run
Logan Recoy – boys 1600 meter run
Jake Halstead – boys discus
Reagan Cool – girls pole vault

The following athletes qualified for Arcadia/Loup City.
Ty Greenland – boys 3200 meter run
Landri Loos – girls 800 meter run
Jessica Stieb – girls discus and shot put
Kaden Reeves – boys pole vault

The following athletes qualified for Burwell.
Boys 4×100 meter relay (Dominic Tolfa, Alexander Gideon, Cash Gurney, Caleb Busch)
Caleb Busch – boys 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash
Cash Gurney – boys 200 meter dash
Hans Gideon – boys 300 meter hurdles
Carter Mann – boys discus and shot put
Levi Bode – boys triple jump
Nikia Williams – girls high jump
