Area High School Football – Sandhills/Thedford vs Twin Loup on KBBN

The KBBN area 8 man game of the week will take place tonight as the Sandhills/Thedford Knights host Twin Loup in Dunning. After finishing last season as the Class D2 state runners-up, Sandhills/Thedford is looking to make another run at a state title this season. The Knights are off to a 3-0 start and are currently ranked #2 by the Omaha World Herald in Class D2 behind Kenesaw. At the beginning of the season, Sandhills/Thedford head coach Josh Deines told KCNI/KBBN sports that one of the keys for them to be successful this season would be the play of the offensive line. Coach Deines said this week that it is still a “work in progress” but he has been pleased with the progress that has been made in that area.

Twin Loup is 0-3 and has faced stiff competition in their first three games against the likes of North Central, Mullen, and Central Valley.  The Wolves battled tough last week against Central Valley falling 20-12 to a team that made it to the Class D2 state semifinals a year ago.  KCNI/KBBN Sports visited with Twin Loup head coach Mike Kozeal earlier this season following their season opener against North Central when he talked about how pleased he was with his team for continuing to fight and not giving up.

Tonight’s game between Twin Loup and Sandhills/Thedford will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
