Area Golfers Compete at Broken Bow Boys Golf Invite

Broken Bow hosted its annual high school boys golf invitational at the Broken Bow Country Club on Friday.  The golfers were treated to beautiful, almost perfect conditions for the meet.  Minden was the team champion on the day with a 345 and Broken Bow was team runner-up with a 355.  Broken Bow’s Blake Denson was the individual champion with a low round of 77.  Denson shot 38 on the front and 39 on the back nine.  Austin Harvey of Broken Bow also placed in the top 15 finishing 9th with an 87.  Other scores for the Bow varsity included Carsten Fox – 95, Nathan Reynolds – 96, and Zack Gaffney – 97.

Of the other area teams that competed, Anselmo-Merna was led by Aaron Bartak who had a team low 94.  Arcadia/Loup City was led by Bradyn Scott who also shot a 94.  Jake Kozeal had the low round for Gothenburg with a 92 and Cozad, who was third as a team just one shot behind Broken Bow for 2nd with a 356, was led by Jacob Engel who finished third on the day with an 82.
