Area Cowboys and Cowgirls Give Strong Performances at Nuckolls County High School Rodeo

Nebraska high school rodeo contestants were in Nuckolls County over the holiday weekend for performances on Saturday and Sunday. Among the area highlights, Zane Kreikemeier of Callaway was the boys all around champion Saturday. The highlight of Kreikemeier’s day was winning the tie down roping in a time of 10:49. Kreikemeier would better his time Sunday and win the event again with a time of 10.17. Madison Mills of Eddyville had another big weekend capturing the girls all around title on Sunday winning both the pole bending (20.943) and the barrels (16.374). Mills also won the pole bending on Saturday with a winning time of 20.911. Brody McAbee of Ansley posted the only qualified ride in the saddle broncs on Saturday winning the event with a score of 71.
