Area Basketball Teams Hit the Court Following NSAA Moratorium

Several area basketball teams will be back on the court today following the NSAA moratorium. Broken Bow will be at the Adams Central Holiday tournament. Broken Bow is the top seed in a loaded girls field and will play Boone Central in the opening round. The Lady Indians suffered their first loss of the season last Saturday to top ten ranked St. Paul. Broken Bow girls are ranked #9 this week in the latest OWH Class C1 rankings. The other first round girls matchup features Class B #6 Bennington (5-1) against Class C1 Adams Central (5-1). Adams Central is the top seed in the boys tournament. The Patriots are undefeated and ranked #5 in the latest OWH Class C1 boys rankings. Adams Central will meet Broken Bow in the opening round. Boone Central will play the 8th ranked team in Class B, Bennington, in the other first round matchup. Consolation and Championship games are scheduled to be played on Saturday.

Anselmo-Merna will compete at the Pleasanton Post Holiday Tournament. AM will open against Cambridge in the opening round of both the girls and boys tournament. The host team Pleasanton will play Ravenna in the other opening round games. Consolation and championship games are scheduled for Saturday.

Ansley/Litchfield is part of the Central Valley tournament which begins today. Arcadia/Loup City will be at the Shelby tournament, Burwell is scheduled to compete at the Axtell tournament, and Gothenburg is scheduled for opening round play at the GICC holiday tournament today.
