Area Athletes Shine at Hershey / St. Pat’s Track Meet

Several area track and field teams competed at the Hershey/St. Pat’s track invite on Saturday.  Among the area highlights, Seth Scranton of Sandhills/Thedford was a double gold medal winner placing first in the boys 100 in a time of 11.69 and placed first in the triple jump with a winning effort of 40′ 1/2″.  Clayton Moore of Mullen was a double gold medal winner placing first in the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 43.79 and won the boys high jump clearing 6’2″.  Others from the area who took home gold included : Jaden Emerson of Mullen in the 200 (23.9) ; Matt Dailey of Sandhills/Thedford in the 800 (2:14.14) ; Drew Vickers of South Loup in the 110 meter hurdles (16.23) ; Tad Dimmitt of Sandhills Valley in the shot put (47’6″).  In the boys relays, South Loup won the 4×400 in a time of 3:53.05 and also won the 4×800 in a time of 9:22.47.

On the girls side, Callie Coble of Mullen was a double gold medal winner placing first in the 1600 in a time of 6:05.83 and placed first in the 3200 in a time of 12:43.26.  Others from the area who took gold included : Halie Recoy of South Loup in the 200 (28.57) ; Brooke McCulley of Mullen in the 400 (1:08.2) ; Samantha Moore of Mullen in the 100 meter hurdles (16:07) ; Dayle Haake of Sandhills/Thedford in the 300 meter hurdles ; Carlee Bartak of Anselmo-Merna in the triple jump (31’11”).  In the girls relays, South Loup win the 4×100 in a time of 55.29,  Anselmo-Merna won the 4×400 in a time of 4:27.45, and Mullen won the 4×800 in a time of 11:13.5.
