The Omaha World Herald released its all state boys and girls basketball selections for the 2019-2020 season. The selections were announced earlier this week in the Sunday March 29 edition. “Nominations of coaches and observations of the World-Herald sports staff determined the All-Nebraska and all-state teams.”
Broken Bow’s Kya Scott was a second team all state selection in Class C1. Scott, a sophomore, led the Lady Indians in scoring this season averaging 13 points per game. South Loup’s Jesse Sallach was a second team selection in Class C2. Sallach averaged 13.7 points per game this season for the Lady Bobcats. The South Loup senior has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at the college level for Fort Hays State. Mullen junior Samantha Moore was a first team selection in Class D2. Moore led the Lady Broncos in scoring this season averaging 16.9 points per game.

Anselmo-Merna – Jaide Chandler, Alexis Zimmer, Kaitlyn Jacquot, Kirsten Myers
Mullen – Taylor Svoboda, Madison Jones
SEM – Faith Hernandez
On the boys side, Mullen’s Brendon Walker was a Class D2 first team selection. Walker, a junior, averaged 14.6 points per game helping the Broncos qualify for the state tournament and a fourth place finish.
