Area Athletes Look to Qualify for State at District Cross Country

Area athletes will look to qualify today at district cross country for the state championships next week.

Broken Bow will be among those competing at the C-5 district meet at Crandell Creek Golf Course in Ogallala today.  Bow will be joined by Chadron, Chase County, Cozad, Elm Creek/Overton, Gordon-Rushville, Gothenburg, Hershey, Mitchell, Ogallala, Sidney, and Valentine.

The D-4 district meet will take place at the Ainsworth Municipal golf course.  Area teams scheduled to compete include Burwell, Sandhills/Thedford, and Twin Loup

The D-5 district meet is at the Cross Creek Golf Course at Cambridge and will include Ansley/Litchfield, Arcadia/Loup City, South Loup, and SEM.

Mullen will be among those competing at the D-6 district meet at Bridgeport

The top three teams in team scoring in each district will qualify for the NSAA State Championships.  The first fifteen runners to finish, whether part of a team or running as an individual will qualify for the State Championship.

The state cross country meet will take place October 23rd in Kearney at the Kearney Country Club.
