Area Athletes Give Strong Performances at Overton Track Invite

Several area athletes competed at the Overton Track Invite on Tuesday. Axtell won both the girls and boys team titles. Ansley/Litchfield finished as runner-up in the boys team standings and was third in the girls team race. SEM placed 4th in the girls team standings and was 5th in the boys standings while Twin Loup girls finished 5th and the Twin Loup boys came in 6th.

Among the area highlights, Jenaya Pierce of SEM claimed gold in the girls 1600 (6:19.82) and 3200 (13:40). Carli Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield took gold in the girls 300 meter hurdles with a winning time of 51.19 and Falan Ryan of Ansley/Litchfield won the girls shot put with a top effort of 36′ 7.5″.

On the boys side, Collin Arehart of Ansley/Litchfield won the boys 800 meters in a time of 2:12.77 and then teamed with Calvin Finley, Dallas Rohde, and Tycen Bailey to win the boys 4×800 meter relay in time of 9:32.89. Ansley/Litchfield’s Justin Bailey won the boys high jump (5’10”) and Carson Rohde of SEM took gold in the boys discus (149′ 11″).
