Area Athletes Give Strong Performances at Dave Blevins Track Invite

Sandhills Valley hosted the annual Dave Blevins Track and Field invitational Friday in Arnold.  South Loup won the girls team title with 126 points.  North Platte St. Pat’s was second, Sandhills/Thedford was third, and Mullen was fourth.  North Platte St. Pat’s won the boys team title with 116 points.  South Loup was second, Sandhills Valley was third, and Sandhills/Thedford was fifth.

Among the area highlights on the boys side, Tad Dimmitt of Sandhills Valley was a double gold medal winner sweeping the throwing events winning the shot put with an effort of 54’3.75″ and winning the discus with an effort of 157′.  Silas Cool of South Loup won the boys pole vault clearing 12′ to take gold.  Cool also took gold in the 800 in a time of 2:07.9.  Logan Recoy of South Loup won the boys 1600 in a time of 4:55.1.  Seth Scranton of Sandhills/Thedford won the boys triple jump with an effort of 40’6″.  Trevor Kuncl of Mullen took gold in the boys 3200 with a time of 10:29.6.

On the girls side, South Loup claimed 7 event titles in winning the girls team title.  Abby Stallbaumer won the girls discus with a winning effort of 133’4″.  Isabelle Stallbaumer won the girls shot put with an effort of 34’11”.  Charli Vickers won the high jump clearing 4’10”.  Reagan Cool won the pole vault with a winning height of 10′.  Tallianna Martin won the girls 1600 in a time of 5:51.2.  Peyton Paxton of Mullen won the girls 3200 in a time of 12:36.3.  Karley Haake of Sandhills/Thedford won the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 17.3 seconds and also took gold in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 50.1 seconds.

In the relays, South Loup won the boys 4×800 meter relay.  The team of Cache Gracey, Trey Connell, Silas Cool, and Logan Recoy posted the winning time of 8:34.8.  Sandhills/Thedford won the boys 4×100.  The team of Trae Hickman, Reece Zutavern, Seth Scranton, and Kyle Cox posted a winning time of 44.5.  Mullen won the boys 4×400.  The team of Jaden Emerson, Trevor Kuncl, Chase Gracey, and Clayton Moore had a winning time of 3:43.1.  South Loup won the girls 4×800 meter relay.  The team of Ivy Tullis, Ella Cool, Heidi Donegan, and Tallianna Martin posted a winning time of 10:38.6.  South Loup also won the girls 4×400. The team of Bryn Schwarz, Abby Stallbaumer, Taylor Ross, and Ivy Tullis had a winning time of 4:26.5.
