Area Athletes Compete at UNK High School Track Meet

The University of Nebraska at Kearney hosted its annual high school track and field meet for class B and C on Saturday.  There were also a few Class D competitors who took part due to the Class D meet being cancelled Thursday because of weather.  The South Loup girls finished 3rd in the team standings with 42 points.  The girls team title went to Adams Central with 75 points and Holdrege was second with 49.  The boys team title went to Hastings with 97 points.  South Loup finished 5th in the boys standings.  Two individual golds came home with the South Loup Bobcats.  Jaedyn Bubak claimed gold in the girls 200 meter dash in a winning time of 27.73 and Kalen Dockweiler took gold in the boys 800 meters in a winning time of 2:08.96.  Twin Loup’s Jordan Dockweiler also claimed gold on the day by winning the girls shot put with an effort of 36’7″.
