Area Athletes Compete at Sandhills Track Invite at North Central in Bassett

Area athletes turned in strong performances at the Sandhills Track Invite hosted by North Central at Bassett Monday (4/1). Michaela Kelly of Burwell was a double gold medalist winning the 1600 meter run in a time of 5:40.25 and winning the 3200 in a time of 11:56.22. Emma Hoffschneider of Burwell won the girls 800 meters in a time of 2:34.34 with her teammate Jymmie Jensen coming in second. Victoria Griffith of Anselmo-Merna placed 2nd in both the girls 100 and 200 meter dash. AM’s Kaitlyn Jacquot was 2nd in the girls 300 meter hurdles and the Lady Coyotes placed 2nd in the girls 4×400 meter relay. Twin Loup’s Jordan Dockweiler was runner-up in the girls shot put.

The area also had a strong showing in the boys discus with Wyatt Porter of Anselmo-Merna placing 2nd followed by Raiff Ruppert of Twin Loup in 3rd.
