Area Athletes Compete at Districts Today to Qualify for State Cross Country

Area athletes will attempt to qualify for the state cross country championships today as they compete at districts. Broken Bow will compete at the C4 district meet at Crandell Creek Golf Course in Ogallala. The Indians will be joined by Alma/Southern Valley, Chadron, Chase County, Cozad, Gothenburg, Holdrege, Mitchell, Ogallala, Sidney, and Valentine. In Class D, Twin Loup and Burwell will be among those competing at the D4 district meet at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Bloomfield. Ansley/Litchfield, Arcadia/Loup City, South Loup, and SEM will be among those competing at the D5 district at Cross Creek Golf Course in Cambridge. Sandhills/Thedford and Mullen will compete at the D6 district at the Bridgeport Golf Course.

The top three teams in team scoring in each district will qualify for the State Championship.
The first fifteen runners to finish, whether part of a team or running as an individual will
qualify for the State Meet. The state championships will take place Friday October 25th at the Kearney Country Club.
