Area Athletes Compete at Dave Blevins Track Invite

Stapleton hosted the Dave Blevins Track Invite Friday in Arnold. South Loup won the boys team title with 108 points followed by North Platte St. Pat’s with 78.5 points and Brady placed third with 77 points. South Loup’s Kalen Dockweiler won two individual golds to help lead the Bobcats. Dockweiler won the boys 800 meters (2:00.01) and the 1600 in a winning time of 4:43.9. Among the other area highlights, Lane Edis had another big day for the Mullen Broncos. Edis claimed gold in the high jump (6’6″), the long jump (20’11”), and the triple jump (40’8″). Gage Haake of Sandhills/Thedford was a multiple invidual event winner placing first in the 110 meter hurdles (15.5) and winning the 300 meter hurdles in a time of (42.00).

North Platte St. Pat’s won the girls team title with 147 points. South Loup was runner up with 74.5 points and Mullen was just a half point behind in third with 74 points. Among the area highlights, South Loup’s Jaedyn Bubak continued her dominance in the sprints winning both the girls 100 (12.3) and 200 (25.9). Jessie Sallach of South Loup also won two individual golds on the day winning the girls shot put (36’5.5″) and the discus (121′) and Samantha Moore of Mullen was a multiple individual event winner with first place finishes in the 400 (1:03) and 300 meter hurdles (48.10)
