Area Athletes Compete at Cozad CC Invite

The Broken Bow cross country team began its season at the Cozad Invitational on Saturday. Broken Bow placed 4th overall in the boys team standings. The boys team title went to North Platte. Daine Wardyn led the way for the Indians posting the 5th best time at 17:55. Noah Osmond of Broken Bow had the 15th best time at 18:27. Trey Hurlburt was 21st (18:58) and Casey Faulkenberry was 23rd (19:03). The top boys time was turned in by Evan Caudy of North Platte (17:15). Other top area finishes included Colin Rooney of Sandhills Valley (Stapleton/McPherson County) who was 11th (18:07) and Rylin Johns of Sandhills Valley was 22nd (18:58). South Loup also competed at the meet. The top time for South Loup was turned in by Logan Recoy (20:54).

Broken Bow placed 9th overall in the girls team standings and South Loup was 10th. Kearney was the team champion. Broken Bow was led by Makinley Tobey who posted the 14th fastest time at 21:40. South Loup was led by Landyn Cole who posted the 24th fastest time at 22:25. The top girls time was posted by Kearney’s Hannah Godwin at 19:22.
