Arcadia/Loup City and Broken Bow Track Teams Compete at Howard Shumann Track Meet

Track teams from Broken Bow and Arcadia/Loup City were among those that competed at the Annual Howard Shumann Track and Field Invitational hosted by GICC Tuesday. GICC was the boys team champion with 128 points followed by Kearney Catholic with 93 points and Broken Bow was third with 81 points. Some of the highlights for area athletes included Kevin Linn of Broken Bow bringing home gold in the 300 meter hurdles in a winning time of 43.41. Broken Bow’s Joel Myers placed first in the pole vault with a winning vault of 13′. Arcadia/Loup City also produced 2 champions on the day as Nolan Baker won the boys triple jump by going 42′ 6.5″ and Zac Stieb won the boys discus with a throw of 148′ 1″.

On the girls side, Adams Central was the team champion with 134 points followed by Wood River with 98 points and Broken Bow was third with 75 points. Some of the highlights for area athletes included Chloe Herman of Broken Bow winning the girls discus with a throw of 109′ 7″. Lexie Foster of Broken Bow was the champion in the girls 3200 meter run in a time of 12:14.29. Creighton Harrington of Arcadia/Loup City was the champion in the girls pole vault with a winning vault of 9′.
