Ansley/Litchfield Falls to BDS in D1 Semifinals at State Tournament

Ansley/Litchfield fell to BDS in the Class D1 semifinals at the girls state tournament on Friday. The Lady Spartans fell behind 31-23 at the half but came out in the third quarter on a 13-6 run to get to within 1 at 37-36. BDS responded with a 7-2 run before Mariah Lane hit a long 3 to bring the Spartans to within 3 at 44-41. Unfortunately, that momentum was short lived as BDS responded with back to back to 3’s and ended the game on an 18-9 run to secure a 62-50 victory. Ansley/Litchfield was led by Mariah Lane who finished with a game 20 and Falan Ryan finished with 18. The Lady Spartans will play in the third place consolation game on Saturday at Lincoln East High School against Pleasanton who fell to North Central 64-52 in the other D1 semifinal. The consolation game will be broadcast live on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com with coverage beginning around 12:45.
