Pleasanton hosted its annual track and field invitational on Thursday. Axtell won the boys team championship with 149 points. Burwell was second with 87 points and Ansley/Litchfield was third with 77.5 points. The girls team title went to Pleasanton with 125 points. Burwell was second with 107 points and Ansley/Litchfield was third with 76 points. Some of the area highlights included Sarah Lewis of Ansley/Litchfield taking double gold in the girls 100 and 300 meter hurdles. Michaela Kelley of Burwell took double gold in the girls 1600 and 3200 meter run. Burwell had 3 other girls champions as Emma Hoffschneider won the 800, Anna Gideon won the high jump and Hallee Mann placed first in the pole vault. The Burwell girls also placed first in the 4×800 meter relay.
On the boys side, Justin Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield won the high jump, Carson Rohde of SEM placed first in the boys discus and Burwell took gold in the boys 4×400 meter relay.
