Ansley/Litchfield and Burwell Compete at Axtell Wrestling Invite

Ansley/Litchfield and Burwell were among the teams that competed at the Axtell wrestling invitational on Tuesday. Milford won the team title with 213 points. Ansley/Litchfield finished fifth in the team standings and Burwell was sixth. Ansley/Litchfield had four wrestlers finish in the top four of their weight class. Owen Hartman of Ansley/Litchfield won the championship at 113 lbs. Chase Racicky was runner-up at 138 lbs. Gavin Barela was runner-up at 220 and Gavin Cole placed 4th at 170 lbs. Burwell had five wrestlers place in the top four of their weight class. Kolby Larson claimed the title at 182 lbs. and Alex Gideon was champion at 195. Jaxon Thoene was 4th at 152 lbs. Hagen Hodges placed 4th at 182 lbs. and Cale Buss was runner-up at 285 lbs.

A girls tournament also took place Tuesday.  Jocelyn Ambriz of Ansley/Litchfield finished as the runner-up in the girls 165 lb. weight class.
